How the Symptoms of Diabetes Usually Become Apparent
Type 1 diabetes is also called juvenile onset diabetes by some doctors. Type 1 diabetes targets younger people and has a subtle onset. Adult onset diabetes, type 2, is very symptomatic compared to type 1. Your environment and lifestyle choices can actually be used to predict your odds of developing type 2 diabetes. Keeping an eye out for major diabetic symptoms is always a good idea, though. Monitoring for the major symptoms will keep diabetes from being able to develop undetected as sometimes happens. Here are some of the major symptoms of diabetes that you need to watch for.
One of the most recognized indicators of diabetes is grogginess. Yes, fatigue is a sign of an array of issues.
At times, it can be an indicator of a major sickness. For other times, it easily means you need to take more time for sleep. Of course, when it is on account of diabetes, the fatigues is nearly unbearable. Someone having to battle this kind of sleepiness probably gets more than enough sleep at night and, even if they’re not overly active, will often feel completely drained. This is the kind of tiredness that is often associated with mononucleosis and can be just as much of a hindrance. Keep an eye on your energy levels. If you don’t see any reason why you’re feeling so dang tired, consult your medical professional and see if they’ll do some testing. A major symptom of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes is that the body fails to produce potassium correctly. When the potassium levels in your body become chaotic, this can make a few different types of physical indicators happen, such as dehydration, a messed up state of mind and for some a coma can take place, if the matter is not caught early enough. This wonked out potassium production is usually misdiagnosed at first which is why, if you are not feeling well you insist that your doctor be as thorough as possible in diagnosing you. You don’t need the doctor to let you go with a prescription for antibiotics when the literal issue is diabetes!
One of the indicators of diabetes that is more complicated to notice especially in yourself is when you are feeling unlike yourself. We all have days where we just can’t seem to concentrate. If you are all of a sudden feeling agitated, confused or even irritable and can’t seem to figure out why you feel that way, it could be due to the fact you are feeling one of the syndromes of diabetes. It is effortless to recognize this in other people, but hard to see it in yourself.
You might not even realize you are acting a little out of whack. It’s when someone asks “what’s wrong with you” that you should start to pay attention. From time to time it is just a bad mood. Periodically it is a warning that something is not going the way it should internally and physically.
Symptoms will not be the same for any two people. It really just depends on what stage of it’s cycle it is in your body and what you do about it. There are a few people who will never show a symptom. Others may show a whole range of common symptoms. The first line of defense a person has against this disease is understanding how it manifests itself. If it’s control of the disease you seek you must first recognize the symptoms.
