Watch for the Diabetes Symptoms
Type 1 diabetes and juvenile onset diabetes are names for the same condition. This type of diabetes is subtle and generally strikes younger people. Adult onset diabetes, type 2, is very symptomatic compared to type 1. Type 2 can even be predicted in some cases based on lifestyle choices and environmental factors. To be safe,, you should still be on the look out for some of the major symptoms of diabetes. Doing so will prevent this disease from taking hold unnoticed. Watch for these diabetic symptoms.
One of the most recognized indicators of diabetes is grogginess. Yes, fatigue is a symptom of any number of problems.
Sometimes it could be a symptom of a major illness. For other times, it easily means you need to take more time for sleep. When it is being caused by diabetes however, the fatigue is extreme. Someone having to manage this type of tiredness probably gets more than enough sleep at night and, even if they are not very active, will often times feel totally drained. This is the type of sleepiness that is often thought of when mononucleosis is brought up and can be just as limiting. Keep an eye on your energy levels. If there is no reason for you to be feeling so exhausted, call your doctor and ask him to run some tests. Are you more irritable without outside factors influencing it? If your irritability goes beyond normal bad mood, then the culprit could be your blood sugar levels are out of sync. You definitely need to be checked for diabetes if your blood sugar levels are fluctuating. Many people find that their ability to deal with irritation goes down when they are starting to become diabetic because their body stops processing food correctly. It is a good idea to get tested for diabetes and hypoglycemia if you cannot find a reason for your mood swings.
Is it hard to concentrate on your tasks? Do you suddenly faint for reasons unknown? These symptoms may indicate you have diabetes. Diabetes affects the body’s ability to regulate insulin and blood sugar levels. Before you get diagnosed, it is not uncommon for your sugar levels to fluctuate wildly which can cause fainting spells or light headedness. You need to consult your doctor if you experience these spells especially if you experience feeling drained of energy after. It could be that you have hypoglycemia. It could be that you are a diabetic who needs insulin treatments to regulate her blood. Only your doctor can tell you for sure either way. There are different signs of diabetes, but they can be agonizing. The most obvious symptoms (the lack of insulin production) are hard to detect without extensive medical testing. Other symptoms are easily recognizable. At the same time, a lot of the apparent signs of diabetes are also apparent signs of other issues and disorders. It is essential for you to be aware of your body (and the bodies of your loved ones). You don’t want an incorrect diagnosis for your disease. Ask for a second opinion if you think your own doctor hasn’t correctly diagnosed you or your kids.
